The Opportunity
Our client is a renowned and established architecture firm, specialising in bespoke architectural designs for over 20 years. With a stellar reputation for innovative and unique work, they offer a thriving office environment in the heart of Surry Hills. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Managing Director and Office overseeing key financial functions such as accounts payable & receivable, cash flow management project profitability analysis.
Your expertise in MYOB and Microsoft Excel, along with your professionalism and maturity, will be key to your success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
As the Accounts & Admin Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Accounts Payable: Data entry and processing payments via BPay or direct credit;
- Accounts Receivable: Marking off paid accounts and entering them into MYOB. Tracking unpaid accounts and following up on outstanding invoices;
- Monthly Billings: Preparing and sending client invoices using Excel and entering them into MYOB;
- Payroll Management: Handling fortnightly salaries, payroll tax, monthly PAYG, and quarterly superannuation. Managing leave entitlements (holiday & sick/family);
- Petty Cash: Managing and reconciling petty cash records;
- Cashflow & Projections: Updating weekly cash flow reports, incorporating billing projections and accounts payable data. Performing daily bank reconciliations; and
- Ad-hoc Administrative Duties: Assisting with tender preparation, especially under time constraints, with a focus on consultant fees. And supporting general administrative tasks as needed.
The Expertise
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts and/or finance administration. Expertise within the construction, architecture, or design industries is a plus. Your experience should include working with MYOB and setting up accounting records for new or transferred entities. You must be able to resolve MYOB-related issues independently. A strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly related to project-based work, is essential. You will have exceptional attention to detail and a mature approach to work, strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
