Job description

Admin Assistant | Growing Financial Advisory Firm | $60k-$70k + Super

Job title : Administration Assistant Location : Sydney

  • Join an ambitious, growing business and be part of its exciting next chapter
  • Great team culture, hands-on learning and real opportunities to grow
  • North Sydney | $60k–$70k + super | Make your mark from day one

The Opportunity

Our client is a growing financial advisory firm, specialising in debt advisory, business restructuring and insolvency solutions. Working with business owners, company directors and professional advisers, the team helps businesses navigate complex financial situations.

They’re now looking for an Administrator to join their team. This is an opportunity to get your foot in the door, learn from experienced professionals and play a genuine role in a business that’s still building its future.

The culture is a big part of the appeal. You’ll be joining a young, close-knit group of people who enjoy working together, bring good energy to the office and are genuinely invested in what they’re building. It’s a social and welcoming environment, but one where people work hard, take pride in their work and are always willing to pitch in.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a strong academic background who’s ready for their first professional opportunity, or someone with around 12–18 months of administration or office experience looking to take the next step.

You’ll be trusted to take ownership of your work, get involved in different aspects of the business and help bring structure to the day-to-day operations. You’ll also gain exposure to the financial advisory industry, build practical business skills and learn what it takes to help a growing business succeed.

The Responsibilities

You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks, working closely with the team to keep things organised and running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Keeping things organised: Maintaining client files, records and documentation, ensuring everything is accurate and up to date.
  • Managing emails and communication: Monitoring inboxes, prioritising correspondence and ensuring enquiries reach the right people.
  • Being the point of contact: Handling incoming calls, taking messages and communicating professionally with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing documents: Assisting with the preparation and formatting of correspondence, reports and other business documents.
  • Staying on top of deadlines: Tracking outstanding actions, following up information and helping ensure important tasks are completed on time.
  • Supporting the team: Providing day-to-day administrative assistance and helping manage competing priorities.
  • Taking initiative: Identifying what needs to be done, following through on tasks and flagging anything that needs attention.
  • Making things better: Helping improve administrative processes, create structure and find more efficient ways of working as the business grows.
  • Handling information responsibly: Maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion when dealing with sensitive client matters.

The Expertise

We’re not necessarily looking for years of experience. We’re looking for someone with the right foundations, a great attitude and the motivation to learn.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Some exposure to administration, office support or a professional working environment, whether through employment, internships or other relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to interact professionally with different people.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach and the initiative to get things done without needing constant direction.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, stay on top of deadlines and follow through on commitments.
  • A willingness to ask questions, learn quickly and take feedback on board.
  • Good judgement and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude and the willingness to roll up your sleeves when things get busy.
