The Opportunity
Assistant Sydney is partnering with a well-established Australian organisation to recruit a Governance Officer to join their Legal & Governance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging governance professional looking to further develop their company secretarial, board administration and governance expertise within a sophisticated corporate environment.
Working closely with the Governance & Legal team, you will play an integral role in supporting governance activities across a complex corporate structure while gaining exposure to senior stakeholders and key business decision-making processes.

The Responsibilities
- Governance & Company Secretarial Support: Assist with ASIC filings, annual reviews, entity management, corporate records maintenance and regulatory compliance activities.
- Board & Committee Coordination: Support the preparation and administration of Board and Committee meetings, including agendas, papers, meeting calendars, resolutions and follow-up actions.
- Stakeholder Management: Liaise with senior leaders, auditors, advisors and external stakeholders to support governance processes and ensure deadlines are met.
- Governance Administration: Maintain governance registers, coordinate document execution processes, manage governance reporting requirements and support ongoing compliance obligations.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to governance projects, process enhancements, policy updates and broader governance framework initiatives.
The Expertise
The successful candidate will bring 3+ years’ experience within governance, company secretarial or board administration or a related corporate environment. Exposure to ASIC filings, entity management, corporate records or compliance activities. Experience supporting Board or Committee meetings, including coordination of papers, agendas and stakeholder communication.
Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. A proactive, collaborative approach with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
