Medical Receptionist | Private Practice | $80k Package

The Opportunity

Assistant Sydney is delighted to partner with a respected private medical practice, specialising in ophthalmology. This rare opportunity will see you based in their gorgeous inner city, eastern suburbs practice, as the face of the clinic. This front-facing role is ideal for someone mature-minded, approachable and engaging, who thrives in a warm and close-knit environment. You’ll receive comprehensive onboarding and training to ensure you can hit the ground running.

The Responsibility

As the first point of contact for the practice, your responsibilities will include:

  • Greet patients and create a warm, professional first impression;
  • Manage bookings, enquiries over the phone, email and in person;
  • Support clinical flow by updating patient records and handling admin tasks;
  • Process payments and lodge Medicare claims;
  • Maintain the reception and clinical areas tidy and well-presented;
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure a smooth and personalised patient experience;
  • Prepare and send consult reports to referrers; and
  • Assist the Practice Director with occasional PA and ad hoc admin tasks as required.

The Expertise

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ experience coming from a specialist medical practice. Ophthalmology would be highly favoured! You’ll be a genuinely warm and polished individual, with a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional, personalised patient care. Strong attention to detail and confidence using practice management software are essential. You should also be comfortable working independently.

*Please note, the successful candidate will be required to undertake initial training a few days a week at their Northwest Sydney practice. Access to a car is helpful, although public transport is achievable.
