The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established and highly regarded specialist practice. Based in Northwest Sydney, the clinic is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and specialist eye services. They are seeking a Patient Booking Coordinator to join their professional and supportive team. The practice offers a welcoming, close-knit environment where you’ll be supported with thorough onboarding and ongoing training to grow your knowledge and skills in the medical sector. The ideal candidate will be warm, professional, and patient-focused, with excellent communication and organisational abilities.
The Responsibility
Responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to;
- Coordinating surgical bookings and related patient appointments;
- Preparing documentation to support theatre lists, surgical procedures, and patient consent;
- Liaising with clinical staff and surgeons regarding surgical requirements;
- Managing orders for surgical equipment and materials with attention to accuracy;
- Providing patient support and guidance both in person and over the phone;
- Assisting with consulting days, including room preparation and patient queries;
- Supporting the front desk and wider administration team as required; and
- Working closely with the Practice Manager to ensure smooth scheduling and workflow across the practice.
The Expertise
The ideal candidate will bring 1-3 years’ experience in a specialist medical, surgical, or ophthalmic setting (preferred), with strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. You will be confident communicating and building rapport with both patients and clinical professionals, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and discretion when managing sensitive matters. A compassionate, patient-focused approach is essential, along with the flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
